Cycling in the Cembra Valley

The Cembra Valley, characterised by its steep slopes and the network of country roads that cross the typical vineyard landscape, is a favorite valley for cyclists and renowned for being the birthplace of famous cyclists such as Francesco Moser and Gilberto Simoni.

The municipality of Giovo is home to one of the 23 mythical climbs in Trentino dedicated to racing bikes, the "Salita dei Campionissimi" in Palù di Giovo. It is a short but intense climb that from San Michele all'Adige leads to Maso Roncador in the municipality of Giovo over a distance of approximately 6.4 kilometers and 455 meters in altitude. The first two kilometers have an average grade of over 8% but there are also streches that exceed 12%. Along the climb you can admire the extension of the Piana Rotaliana.

Among the local sport associaton operating in the cycling sector we remember the Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Unione Ciclistica Valle di Cembra, a non-profit organization that for over twenty years has been dedicated to the promotion of youth sports in the cycling sector. The association also organizes during the year moments of approach to this sport.
